Former Speaker KENNETH MARENDE lands a big job in UHURU/ RUTO’s Government

Friday December 26, 2014 – Former House Speaker Kenneth Marende has landed a big job in the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
This is after he was elected as a board member of the Kenya Power.
His election to a public institution comes following his exit from Parliament two years ago.
Marende received the highest votes in an election where all former directors who were seeking re-election lost out, including Chairman Eliazar Ochola, Patrick Obath and Jacob Mwirigi.
The poling results showed Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government supported Marende’s candidature given that the State owns 50.08% share of KPLC which is crucial for anyone to sail through as a director in the utility firm.
Kenya Power has 27, 000 shareholders who exercise weighted voting rights, where one’s vote is equivalent to their stake.
Marende exited from politics to pursue personal business and vowed to make a comeback in 2016 where he intends to run for one of the big seats in the country.

Is NKAISSERY taking orders from RAILA ODINGA? See what he did hours after his appointment!

Friday December 26, 2014 – Newly appointed Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery, on Thursday lifted the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Lamu Island leaving only a small section of Lamu County with a curfew.
In a statement to the press, Nkaissery said the curfew has been lifted in Lamu Island but remains in force in the County’s mainland.
The lifting of the curfew is in line with CORD leader Raila Odinga’s demands to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the then CS Joseph ole Lenku to lift it saying  it is affecting businesses in the region.
A source at State House confirmed that some Jubilee operatives were not comfortable with order that comes 24 hours after his appointment.
Some politicians close to power wanted Nkaissery to issue a statement that the Government will review the curfew orders and then lift it after he tours the area.
Other sources said Nkaissery was told by President Uhuru Kenyatta that he had given him powers to only consult the Security Council and not any other individual, saying there was only one centre of power.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has thanked Nkaissery for lifting the curfew in Lamu Island.

Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, apologises to West Ham boss, Sam Allardyce, over this.

Friday, December 26, 2014 – Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has insisted he has no grudge against West Ham boss, Sam Allardyce, following their nasty altercation last season.
The Portuguese tactician admits he was stupid to label Big Sam a ‘footballing dinosaur’
Mourinho says he has taken back his “silly words”
He said: “Last season I had a couple of words about them. Not about the way they played, about the way they started wasting time after two minutes of the game, which I don’t like.
“But I respect him as a coach. As a person he is a very good guy but as a coach he has a beautiful career.
“I’m happy that he’s doing well with West Ham. I think he deserves respect. He has my respect.”
He added: “If they finish top four, then Manager of the Season – Big Sam. Team of the Season – West Ham.
“The reason I say that is because it would be an amazing achievement comparing West Ham with the investment that other teams did to finish in the top four. But why not?
“To be fourth for a team that everyone was expecting to fight for survival, to fight to keep a position in the last third of the table, I think is a fantastic achievement. Very good.”

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal differs with Sir Alex Ferguson over touchline antics.

Friday, December 26, 2014 – Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal, says that he is not fond of shouting instructions from the touchline during matches.
The Dutchman can be rarely seen on the touchline as he prefers to stay in his dug-out following the proceedings with a keen eye while taking notes.
Unlike, Van Gaal, Sir Alex Ferguson was ever present on the touchline, spurring his side on especially when chasing the match with the clock ticking away.
The Dutchman told reporters: “You think the referee is looking at Ferguson?”
“On television you can see that because every television station is recording the manager, I know. But the referee is not looking at the TV. Maybe after the match, but then he can’t change anything anymore.
“I don’t think I can influence the referee, no. When I was in my first year I did everything. But I learned to be more quiet. I write notes for half-time. I can say the things that I am willing to say that can influence the match. Then the sequence is always the right way because the players remember the moments of the game in sequence. It’s more efficient then.”

Manchester City handed Major KUN AGUERO boost as Pellegrini warns leaders Chelsea.

Friday, December 26, 2014 – Manchester City have been handed a major boost after it emerged that injured talismanic striker, Kun Aguero, is set for an early return.
The Argentine hit-man, City’s top scorer this season with 19 goals, has been missing for the past three weeks with ligament damage to his left knee.
He was not expected to make his comeback until late January, in line with his projected six to eight week lay-off.
However, reports indicate that Aguero is ahead of schedule in terms of his rehab and could even feature in City’s away trip to Everton slated for January 10.
Meanwhile, City manager, Manuel Pellegrini has warned Chelsea that the Premier League title race will go right down to the wire once more this season.
The Citizens have reduced the deficit on the current leaders in recent weeks to just three points heading into the hectic festive fixtures.
Having been crowned English champions twice in the last three years on the final day of the campaign, Pellegrini is confident that his side can push the Blues all the way.
The Chilean tactician told reporters: “We are not thinking about Chelsea, we are just thinking about our team.
“We know it is important to have our own pressure.
“You never win the title in December. We have a long five months to continue playing as well as we are doing so far, and we will see at the end of the season which team has most points.
“It is always hard to win [the title] the first time and the second time. Maybe when you already win one title, at the beginning of the season, especially after a World Cup, it is a bit difficult. After that, I think that is the same degree of difficulty one year as another.”
