GOOD NEWS as MPs set to begin process to abolish the Senate, Senators are GREEDY!

Friday September 5, 2014 – Members of the National Assembly have for the first time come to their senses and acknowledged the skyrocketing Wage Bill and told Senators to stop their greed.
The MPs, led by Homa Bay legislator Peter Kaluma and his Kieni counterpart, Kanini Kega, vowed to block attempts by Senators to increase their salaries from the current sh532, 000 to a whopping sh2.4 million every month.
The MPs threatened to begin the process to abolishing the Senate should the Senators succeed in their push to increase their salaries above them saying if they cannot serve Kenyans with their current salaries then they have no business burdening Kenyans even more.
“The Senate has no work under the current structure now that there are Counties and National Assemblies and if Senators cannot be satisfied with the little they get, Kenya can as well do without them,” said Kaluma.
The MPs also warned the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) not to approve the greed by Senators or else it will be disbanded as well.
