Steven Gerrard eyes Arsenal scalp to transform Liverpool’s campaign this 2014/ 15 season.

Friday, December 19, 2014 – Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has rallied his teammates to kick start their campaign by beating Arsenal in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers’ charges have endured a testing campaign as they are languishing in 11th in the Premier League table and bowed out at the Champions League at the group stage.
The Reds responded well from last week’s 3-0 hammering at the hands of arch-rivals, Manchester United, to beat Bournemouth 3-1 and advance to the Capital One Cup semi-final where they will face Chelsea.
In the same vein, the 34-year old believes getting a result against Arsenal will give them fresh impetus to turn around their season.
Gerrard said: “We made mistakes against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday and we got punished by world-class players.
“The first half against Bournemouth was probably as close as we’ve come to last season’s standards.
“It’s been tough to perform of late because we haven’t played well as a team, but if we keep giving everything we’ve got then I’m sure the good days are not too far away.
“If we can get a big result against Arsenal and build on this, then I think we can turn it around.”
Liverpool ran out 5-1 winners the last time they hosted the Gunners at Anfield.
